Unforeseen Circumstances
Being a dog owner means a long commitment, but sometime life circumstances change and things can get hard for you and your dog.
The Long Commitment
Your dog is for life not like something you loan that you can give back when it misbehaves. When he gets sick it is your job to help him get well. If circumstances in your home environment change, you must consider how it will affect your dog and make every effort to help him along.
When you choose to get a dog you should become a responsible dog owner. Regrettably there are not enough responsibly dog owners. Some times things get hard, specially with a new puppy, and the owners abandon their dogs, leavening them to fend for themselves in an empty house or chained in the garden. Sometime life gets rough and we have to make serious choices. In some cases, that means giving up a beloved pet. However hard this may be there are many ways to avoid this. Here are some examples.
I'm moving and my new place does not allow dogs. rent an apartment with a dog knows it is not easy. Be diligent and chances are, in time you will find the right place. Try to agree the conditions with potential landlords, and be willing to spend extra money. If you definitely must move right away and cannot find a place that allows your dog, talk to friends and family - someone you know might be willing to take care of your dog for an extended period of time while you search for other arrangements. The same applies if your move is temporary and dogs are truly not allowed.
